I'll dominate 'legitimate fighter' Paul - Anthony Joshua
The British boxer prepares to battle Jake Paul in an eight-bout fight which will be broadcast in real-time on the streaming platform.
Briton Anthony Joshua stated he will "dominate completely" Jake Paul and "break" his opponent as the pair confronted each other to publicize the upcoming heavyweight fight.
Ex two-time unified boxing king Joshua battles social media star turned fighter Jake Paul - in what is, by the numbers, a massive mismatch - at Miami venue on December 19th.
Boxer's Mentality
"I will injure his face and break his body up. My goal is to show I'm the better fighter," the British boxer, 35 years old, stated.
"I will dominate him completely. That's the boxer's mindset.
"I will genuinely try to injure him. That's what I want to do."
Civil Exchange
Despite these statements, a relaxed Joshua and internet personality Paul - normally known for his showmanship - exchanged pleasantries and kept it respectful with each other.
Jake Paul rather criticized former Joshua's opponent Francis Ngannou and described him as "a joke" after Ngannou declined a match opportunity.
Targeting Fury
Anthony Joshua, at the same time, criticized British rival Fury - and refused a £1m bet 'The Gypsy King' claims he will make on a Paul win.
"[Paul] is better than Fury - he's present here," the boxer stated.
"I give him credit for that."
Serious Opponent
Despite declaring he will punish Paul, Anthony Joshua refused to comment unfavorably about his opponent's fighting skills.
"Jake Paul is a legitimate boxer," he said.
Jake Paul's Background
Jake Paul - who originally gained popularity on the Disney Channel - has mostly boxed mixed martial artists or past-their-prime fighters since becoming pro.
He lost to British fighter Tommy Fury in 2023.
Financial Success
Nevertheless, the novice is still one of boxing's greatest financial successes, consistently making massive financial rewards.
Forecast and Confidence
The 28-year-old forecast a stoppage in the fourth or fifth round and asserted he would derail the much-anticipated Fury-Joshua bout, which is apparently under discussion for two years from now.
"It will be myself against Tyson Fury next year," Jake Paul said.
Size Disparity
As both boxers participated in the traditional face-off, with their physical disparity clearly visible, it drove home just how improbable this whole event is - and how amazing it is that the match is actually going ahead.
